Softbank Japan is going to launch its first 3G network-compatible digital photo frame in Japan. The PhotoVision SoftBank HW001 is a built-in 3G communication function that enables users to directly receive and auto-play pictures from handsets and PCs, as well as images received via MMS (multimedia messaging service) messages.
According to press release, the PhotoVision HW001 is scheduled to be launched by Softbank Mobile in June. The HW001 is equipped with a 7-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) liquid-crystal display and allows users to instantly share their favorite pictures stored in digital cameras or handsets.
The digital photo frame can be connected to a 3G network via a SIM card. In addition, users can also start slide shows once the digital photo frame is switched on, without the need to configure any initial settings. Its auto-play function enables users to view their pictures without having to press a single button, it added. With a simple yet sophisticated design that matches any interior, and easy-to-use touch buttons for an enhanced user experience, HW001 is an ideal gift for family and friends. [via]
